But it still looks good, and Monkey Tennis made me giggle. Also, question remains: when the fuck did you get so Forum savy?

I just meant the images for the Reply and Topic buttons! You didn't have to change the whole thing!

I'd love to take credit, but Forum motion is damn near forums for speshuls. These are pre-made skins. I like this one a lot, I don't want to tweak buttons and skins don't wanna fight Photoshop alongside other crap right now

psst
she's awesome for now though tomorrow, do you want us to just pick up from where you left us off Prelude wise? I've got no problems with a tired and confused Malkate trying to putter off something into logic braincells and justifying what happened.

nah
Nah, see that's just it, there is a fundamental flaw in the prologue. I'm not sure what it is but something about the way Shadows is failing is off to me. something doesn't seem right about it, It may be as simple as my imagery on it was just too weak. I dunno, it needs to be reworked in some way. The core of it is good, but the peripherals needs help.
So I suppose I should set some guidelines, For one in the prologue Malkate doesn't know Las, or Daegan or the Sethi or anything at all about their kingdom. See in this skewed version of the world Sethian interactions with humanity stretch back into antiquity, so far that barest scraps remain to even tie them with wild legend. When we throw Malkate back, that all changes, and a timeline reminiscent of what we are familiar with ensues. However until we get out of the Prologue we have to write them that way.
Also for the prologue, The Arcs don't work, because the elements they are tied too don't have enough power left to fuel them, and maybe some more spectacular imagery of elemental failing, it needs to have a sense of urgency behind it. They are racing against time and the world is falling apart. needs to really hook the reader in right away with this concept.
Oh and for Shane, the way they accomplish sending Malkate back through time is the ritual sacrifice and absorbtion of powers of a Sethian child of the time element. Maybe we can work some conflict into this that way.

I haven't read the other stuff yet, but I will at lunch. In reference to throw Mal back and the sacrifice of a Time Sethi - was it just the core Elements Daegan had daughters for/with or did that include Time and Existence as well? 'Cause right there is the sacrifice and makes Daegan that much more dark and angry.

Well
The only flaw in that would not affect him in the Past of sorts- especially with Malkate basically thinking in the end it'll never really happen because she'll be fixing the flaw in time. Though I see what you mean; though I think you've gotten down the sense of the failing element quite well.
though there is ONE thing that made me pause- because even though Shadow is it's own elements without light and Darkness it would not exist, and thus would continue with the other two as a sort of leeching energy would it not?

I get your point
But the failure of shadow is not a failure of light or dark, its a failure of the obstruction of light. as darkness is not shadow, night is not darkness it's shadow true darkness is the absence of all light. so it's possible for shadow to fail before light and darkness. I'm just not entirely certain I like HOW it failed. So if things cannot obstruct light anymore, that would be in essence the failure, but communicating that without turning the book into a physics lesson is the tough part.
Daegan didn't have any time or existence children just the 12 basic elements if memory serves me accurately. however killing a child is reason enough to piss most people off, the justification is as Mal has stated that the death would never actually take place if you avert the crisis that caused you to kill the child in the first place.
